Winter is just a season

Out of the river, there came up seven cows, sleek and fat, and they grazed amongst the reeds. After them, seven other cows, ugly and gaunt came up out of the river and stood beside those on the riverbank. And the cows that were ugly and gaunt ate up the seven sleek, fat cows. To cut a long story short, it was a dream that meant there was going to be seven years of high-end prosperity as well seven years of extreme prosperity.

More on this later, right now I want us to fix our eyes on phenomena that cyclically occur on this earth regardless of your location, seasons. Everyone knows that we have summer, autumn, winter and spring at different intervals within the year, as well as the varying temperatures of the four seasons mentioned wherein the different flora also exhibits various growth stages.

As I was busy pondering on these things, I likened the seasons with how life occurs on us all. We go on about the various activities we engage ourselves in on a daily basis and as we do, we don’t realise that life literally unfolds as seasons of nature do. There is a time for everything, a great author once said.

When I started out, the dream introduced in that land a season of prosperity that would last seven years, and followed by a season of extreme lack for the seven following years. Of all the seasons winter is known to be the one where productivity is at is lowest, temperatures drop to extreme lows, activities that once where easily possible in other seasons are now no longer possible. The seven years of poverty and lack can be likened as winter, were things are hard, tough and showing no progress at all. So, in the dream they were to have summer season for seven years and winter for the other years.

What really gets me skipping like a child inside is the fact that all these four seasons occur at different interval within a year, one season doesn’t decide on itself to dominate the others and last for the whole year, it was never designed to materialize in that way at all. It made me realise that I might be going through a winter season in my life but I know for a fact that whatever I’m facing at that moment is only temporary, the season will change, it will not last forever. It might happen the season lasts seven years like my opening dream but it will not last forever.

The more I think and meditate on the various challenges I face in life, the more I get reinvigorated to never give up on my dreams, as well as what I believe in. I tell myself that I am just going through a winter season and that spring and summer seasons are coming my way. I also just don’t sit around waiting for the season to change, I do all I need to do in order to be prepared for the changing season. I`m in business so, in my preparation, I make sure my documents are in order, plans and compliance and every other thing I need in my industry. It’s a huge pity that many throw in the towel whilst in the winter season, they do that because life becomes tough and one doesn’t see a way forward but beyond your current situation there is definitely a change of season coming because winter is just a season, it doesn’t last forever.
