WHAT DO YOU SEE?
Earlier in the week I was watching a documentary about God`s generals who were used mightily in the 19th and 20th century, and the man they spoke about first was Smith Wigglesworth a British evangelist. A friend of his explained what happened in a crusade wherein a doctor brought his patient to the prayer line and as Evangelist Wigglesworth came up to ask what was wrong the doctor replied that he had cancer and it was situated in the stomach, the evangelist stood back for a little while and punched him on the stomach were the cancer was and the man lost all his energy and he appeared as dead, the doctor in shock started saying “you killed him” countless times, Evangelist Wigglesworth said, “he`s healed” and went on praying for others whilst the doctor continued saying you killed him. After 10 minutes the cancer laden man stood up and started following Evangelist Wigglesworth shouting that he`s healed.
The Lord said to Jeremiah, what do you see? And he told him what he saw and God replied, “you have seen correctly”, I kept reading to find other places similar to this one and I was led to the verse that reads “we walk by faith and not by sight”. As we grow up in our spiritual life there is a need that we should strive to think as God thinks, see life the way he sees life.
The doctor in my opening saw a man that was killed by a punch but the evangelist saw a healed man, he had seen correctly. We need to always view any situation through the eyes of faith not our mortal eyes, if we constantly see life in that manner on every aspect it is only then that God can judge us to have seen correctly because what you see is what you get.
An army came to capture Elisha one day and he was awakened by his servant who was both startled and extremely in despair at the army surrounding them, and Elisha told him that those who are with us are more than those against us, he prayed that he could see correctly and it was then that he saw horses and chariots of which surrounded the army that came against Elisha.
There are many instances in the Bible whereby people saw correctly and those who did not, we need to find ourselves seeing life correctly and it is then that we`ll see God fulfilling his word in our lives. So, the question remains, what do you see? Do you see a glass half empty or is it half full? The choice lies with us always.
