Going on google, I curiously anticipated the answer to my question, what is the most expensive item money can buy in the whole wide world, a list of 10 articles appeared swiftly, all thanks to 4G (can`t wait for 5G).
On top of the list is a property by a certain billionaire in India, then a painting came in second, a diamond followed, a retro Italian sports car, a diamond based watch, a domain, a limited edition motorbike, a glass looking piano, a food entry being a fish, bluefin tuna to be exact and last but not least, a bizarre entry into the list was something that would never have crossed my mind, a parking space for $1 million, we can add luxury private jets and exquisite yachts on the list as well.
I will comment on the previous paragraph later, right now I will zoom in to a particular train of thought that kept on knocking on the door of my mind for a few weeks now, human beings are insatiable by their nature, it is tremendously difficult for a person to be satisfied by that which is at our disposal. We constantly want more money, material things, relationships, power, positions and ways to entertain ourselves. One can read the bible and history books and it will not be hard to find out the various ways human beings showed their insatiability from time to time.
One most prominent culprit of insatiability is money, many chase after it and some to an extent will do anything to have more and more of it. There is so much that one can buy with money, billionaires of these generation have so much money they maybe can buy their own country and run it however they please. They can buy anything, but never stop going after more money, people are never satisfied with money, it is never enough, the list of items that are expensive which I mentioned above are those that money can buy, but when will it end, when will we be satisfied, right now I have observed that it is impossible.
However, if we can turn our mindsets to the kingdom of God, insatiability is pure gold in the eyes of God. He always wants us as his children, to be absolutely unsatisfied with our position in him, he detests us when we start to feel like we have made it, both in life and in our walk with him on a daily basis. The same way it is our nature to be insatiable with things in our everyday life, it should be fitting to us that we should not remove our foot off the paddle now when it pertains to knowing God and his ways.
We should never ever be comfortable with the position or level we reach in God. It is nefarious to be insatiable when it comes to pursing money and other worldly possessions, but when it comes to chasing after who God is we suddenly change our mindsets and begin to be highly relaxed and feel where we are in Christ is the highest level we can ever be.
Let us therefore keep chasing after God, laying aside every distraction and that which easily entangles us, because our lives hinge on him manifesting more of himself in our lives.
This is so true. We are not content and tend to seek more material things to satisfy our bodies. But the more we acquire, the more we are thirsty for more. We forget about our souls.
Yes it will make us change our mindsets going forward
This is so true, we’re never satisfied with money but when it comes to God’s work we tend to relax
This will open our minds
